SHAJAREH TAYYEBEH
This work emerged in the days following the bombing of the Shajareh Tayyebeh girls' primary school in Minab, Iran — February 28, 2026. At least 168 people were killed, mostly schoolgirls aged 7 to 12.
Not knowing how to approach this reality, the work began with a long day of painting calligraphies of the word Sohl — Peace, in Persian — and grew from there, deeply inspired by a Persian Sufi mystical poem:
« Every particle in the air and in the desert
is the place where divine beauty reveals itself.
To the eyes of those who see with the heart,
in every particle a thousand suns shine.
If the heart should one day truly see,
every breath holds a thousand meanings.»

Pink, yellow, bright green — suns, fractured figures in the light. To paint the light that was in these children is not to deny their death. It is to refuse to let it be their only truth.
In every life lost, an eternal sun was shining.

Cette œuvre a émergé dans les jours qui ont suivi le bombardement de l'école primaire de filles Shajareh Tayyebeh à Minab, en Iran — le 28 février 2026. Au moins 168 personnes ont été tuées, pour la plupart des écolières âgées de 7 à 12 ans.
Ne sachant comment approcher cette réalité, le travail a commencé par une longue journée à peindre des calligraphies du mot Sohl — Paix, en persan — avant de se déployer, profondément inspiré par un poème mystique soufi persan :
« Chaque particule dans l'air et dans le désert
est le lieu où se révèle la beauté divine.
Aux yeux de ceux qui voient avec le cœur,
en chaque particule brillent mille soleils.
Si le cœur parvient un jour à voir en vérité,
chaque souffle contient mille significations. »

Rose, jaune, vert vif — des soleils, des figures fracturées dans la lumière. Peindre la lumière qui habitait ces enfants n'est pas nier leur mort. C'est refuser que ce soit leur seule vérité.
En chaque vie perdue, un soleil éternel brillait.
