ART THERAPY

~ DRAWING, INNER RIVER : a dialogue between the unconscious and the felt experience, in service of processes of transformation and resilience.
Each week, CAROLINE MABY welcomes a limited number of people for individual art therapy sessions, in Saint-Malo or online.
Art engages the creative process as a mode of exploration. When words are insufficient, images and symbols function as a primary language, opening a space of attentive presence and transformation. Creating allows the exploration of imagination and inner experience in a sensitive and spontaneous way.
Within this framework, art therapy offers a space for expression and resilience through drawing, painting, clay work, and writing.
Her practice is grounded in clinical and field experience (see BACKGROUND and EVOLUTION), as well as two core foundations: Art and Meditation.
It draws on jungian, humanistic, and transpersonal approaches to art therapy, while remaining open to symbolic models rooted in contemplative traditions. It is nourished by an ongoing practice of visual arts and disciplines of attention.
When relevant, other modalities for engaging with the unconscious may be integrated (dream work, flower essences, projective supports).
Art therapy uses the creative process as a privileged pathway to psychic life. Within the symbolic approach, the art therapist pays close attention to the images and metaphors of the unconscious that emerge through creation — a language that allows expression of what cannot otherwise be formulated.
Online, we will work with pastel drawing to support understanding of what hinders the vital impulse, and to encourage the process of integration and transformation.
If this medium remains our preferred one, in the studio we may also make use of writing and/or modeling.
Children, adolescents, adults.
In-person at the Saint-Malo studio or online.
